| 4. | Descripción | Resumen | The constant clash of meteorological phenomena, as well as the extensive damage they bring, have made hurricanes and tropical cyclones the main threat of disasters for Cuba and the Caribbean. The need for homes and buildings that offer security and resistance to strong winds has increased considerably in recent years. This has led to the development of new technologies, aimed at the study of factors that affect these vulnerability indexes. The objective of this research was to the numerical simulation of the light roofs based-on of the dynamic loads typical of the extreme winds, obtaining technological criteria related to the stresses and the limit deformations to which they are subjected. The systems analysis, modeling and finite element simulation methods were used. The dynamic analysis of the wind loads allowed simulating the actual behavior of the roofs; we show that in the area near the holes of the plate, the highest values of stress are concentrated, it is the weakest point and that is where the roofs failure begins. The results of the case studies show that the proposed algorithm is able to describe the action of the extreme wind in the roofs; this will facilitate the decision making for the search of technological solutions that minimize these effects. |
